From Struggle to Stability Through Livelihood Support

J. Barkath Nisha from Muthukuda village in Avudayarkoil Taluk, Pudukkottai district, is a widow who faced severe financial hardship while caring for her infant child. Seeking a way forward, she joined a 10-member Joint Liability Group and received her first loan of ₹15,000, which she used to purchase a milch cow. The income from dairy farming helped her sustain her family and educate her child.
Over the years, Barkath Nisha accessed further financial support to strengthen her livelihood. She supported her son’s college education, helped him secure employment abroad, and built a concrete house for her family. With a final loan of ₹1,00,000, she established a fancy store, which now provides her with a stable income.
Today, Barkath Nisha lives a secure and self-reliant life. She expresses her heartfelt gratitude to Valar Aditi Social Finance Limited for supporting her journey toward sustainable development.
