Strengthening Livelihoods Through Progressive Support

J. Arockia Mary from Thirupunavasal village in Avudayarkoil Taluk, Pudukkottai district, lives with her husband and two children. She has been an active member of the Valar Annai Theresa Joint Liability Group for over a decade. Her journey toward economic stability began with a loan of ₹15,000, which she used to purchase a milch cow and support her family through dairy income.
With consistent repayment and growing confidence, Arockia Mary accessed successive loans to expand her livelihood. She invested in additional milch cows, established a petty shop, and later opened a cool drinks shop and milk outlet. With further support, she set up and expanded a grocery store, which now serves as her primary source of income.
Today, Arockia Mary leads a stable and dignified life. Her children are pursuing college education, and her family meets all its needs independently. She expresses her sincere gratitude to Valar Aditi Social Finance Private Limited for supporting her sustained growth and self‑reliance.
